HOW IT WORKS
Instantor Underfloor Heating is a low-temperature heat distribution system that delivers consistent radiant heat across the floor surface. Unlike radiator-based systems that rely on convection, underfloor heating emits heat evenly from the floor, improving thermal comfort and system efficiency.
The system consists of a pipe network installed within a concrete screed. Heated water circulates through the pipework, transferring heat to the screed, which then emits it uniformly into the space. This approach ensures stable room temperatures with minimal stratification and eliminates localised cold spots.
Typical floor surface temperatures are controlled to remain below 29ºC in occupied zones, in line with comfort and design guidelines. Floor finishes must be specified appropriately, as high-resistance materials can impact heat output and system responsiveness.
Instantor systems can be integrated with conventional radiator circuits, allowing underfloor heating to be used on ground floors with radiators on upper levels. Due to differing thermal response times, independent zoning and time control are required for each system.
